February 20 Open House
The community attended an open house event on February 20 to review the progress on the Whitman County Truck Route Study and give feedback.
The problem:
Truck and freight traffic is an essential part of life on the Palouse. But current traffic options force many large vehicles through the center of Pullman, causing congestion and wear and tear on the roads.
The Plan:
Reducing truck traffic through downtown Pullman by creating efficient alternative routes has been a subject of several studies and planning projects. This planning initiative is seeking practical solutions for which funding can realistically be attained to create truck routes around or through Pullman that are less impactful on the community.
